IMG_0001: accidentally vintage pre-tiktok content

IMG_0001 is the name of an obscure, but interesting project. I quote:

“Between 2009 and 2012, iPhones had a built-in "Send to YouTube" button in the Photos app. Many of these uploads kept their default IMG_XXXX filenames, creating a time capsule of raw, unedited moments from random lives.”

The website IMG_0001 just made it very convenient to browse some of this content. This makes is somehow also an artefact for “vintage internet”, that showcases stuff, that was going on between 2009 and 2012.
